Necklace Light
I have an Alexandrite Necklace from 1910 it has a beautiful silver Filagree?
I have a Silver Filagree Alexdrite necklace, not sure if it’s fake or real, it’s very dainty and pretty from 1910. The stone turns colors from a light lavender to a light pink to a light blue…. my friends at dinner one night said it was red, (but I couldn’t see it)
Do Real Alexandrite stones come in this light of colors ? What do you think the chances of a 1910 stone would be fake or natural.
First of all please take note that even in 1910 they did know how to make artificial gem stones. But anyway…It’s easy to tell natural from man-made. When you go outside with a real Alexandrite it turns a light blue, man-made turn a light purple to pink.
A special Note… even man-made Alexandrite has a very good value if the stone is large.
